Winter seems endless these days. For all those who are in the warmer parts of this earth: appreciate it! No matter what you’re doing, it’s always better when you’re fingers are not freezing off and you don’t have to carry around layers and layers of clothes around on your body. It’s been snowing every now and then for the past four weeks and as much as I loved seeing everything covered in snow on the first day, I am tired of it now. Tired of snow melting and turning into icy puddles, no ponds, allover the place, tired of my shoes getting soaked, tired of cold wind biting at my face, tired of running noses. There is a reason my blog name has the word summer in it.

Regardless of all the bad things, there are some good things as well. Taking hot baths/showers is something I can only appreciate in winter, when I know that snow is falling outside and everything is covered in ice. My tea consumption is at it’s highest as well; there is nothing better than fruit or green tea on a cold winter day. On top of that I get to wear all my knit wear and scarves. And I have been getting around to improve my baking skills. And if all that doesn’t help, you can still order yourself a good book, DVD or CD. Like I did. Fell in love with the song Nothing Without You by Mando Diao and had to order the Winter Edition of Give Me Fire! Oh how I love their raspy voices. It’s a sweet homage to the worst best season of the year: a never ending winter. A greeting from the warm heart of Sweden. The package includes their album with a new track, another CD with B-Sides and a DVD with their impressions of winter. On top of that I have always been fond of intelligent, creative packaging:

When the winter gets too cold, remeber it’s always summer somewhere.
