It really did. And after mulling it over and over in my head I must agree and disagree at the same time although I haven’t really come to a conclusion. Is it just me or many simply don’t give a damn anymore? Maybe that’s a way of being “socially-conscious”. Maybe a way of passing critisism on our (western) society of nowadays is simply to be as materialistic and superficial as possible. Oh man, something is so wrong here, but what? (I hope you sensed the irony there. One of the hardest things to express online is irony. Most people get it wrong.) Or maybe that is all just a mask hiding their true faces like a thick layer of make-up. I really don’t know. What do you think? (PS: I don’t consider myself a hipster at all btw…)

And I am exited for this: Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (March 2010)

While I was riding my bicycle this morning on the way home from a good friend, I thought about posting a mix to listen to whilst on a bike. The route is about 4-5 km through vast fields of wheat and fruit trees and the weather could not have been any better. Little fluffy clouds, a cool breeze and the sun that had softly woken me up was now tickling my skin. And listening to Wire to Wire by Razorlight or Rome by Phoenix was so relaxing, I couldn’t believe it. Anyways, I try not to listen to music when I am driving where there is a lot of traffic so I can concentrate, but in the fields it’s okay I guess. I also feel good, because I have done something good for mother nature after riding my bike, but my legs are telling me a different story. So for all those who are planning to ride their bikes for short distances in future, I am with you! I ride an old Hercules 28″ bike men’s model by the way.

Irina Lazareanu -Long time.

It’s been some time since we last heard anything from The Strokes and every now and then I’ve thought of them, wondering if there’ll ever be another album. Until I stumbled across this video, which is obviously a preview to Julian Casablancas’ solo album. To tell the truth I can’t wait to hear his charmingly raspy voice that reminds me of my 16, 17 year old self. The sound obviously has something stroke-ish to it, bu there  also seems to be more of an electronic sound as far as I can hear. Can’t wait to get more of it.
