I love this woman so much. The song “Don’t Upset the Rhythm” got stuck in my head the minute I heard it for the first time and I had to find out more about her. Born in London her mother is from Zimbabwe. That is not far away from where my mom comes from and makes me even happier. Also, I love the way she rocks her hair without a weave, but all natural. Made me think about my hairstyle. Together with Dan Smith and Jamie Morrison they make the group The Noisettes.

Once again I decided to redo the layout of my blog. It seems like I can’t keep a layout for more than three months. I hope you like the new look and in case you find any errors, feel free to email me: hello@kitesinsummer.com. Some of you might have also noticed that I changed back to WordPress after trying Tumblr. It was fun while is lasted, but was definitely nothing for me. I missed all the widgets and plugins that come along with WordPress, but enough of this. To vie the older entries simply click on the link below and you’ll be taken back to my Tumblr account.

Regardless of all the accusations, there will always be some space in my heart for Michael Jackson. May his sould rest in peace. I used to cut my white t-shirts in front when I was young. We all have our any Michael Jackson moments, don’t we? Share them of you like :)
Here go some of my favourite videos/songs in no particular order.

Yesterday I discovered a place that I’ll simply call my little utopia. A place not far from my home, it’s a miracle it took me so long to discover it. Lying in the outskirts of the town I live in, I could see the rooftops of the last houses as I flew higher and higher on the swing. We climbed on a cherry tree and ate the fruit right there, commenting on how this place was so much like paradise. Far away from the hectic flow of the city that always seems to be in some state of chaos. Fresh air filled our lungs and yellow butterflies danced around us, as we hung in the tireswing and watched the clouds transform. We ran around barefoot, even making cartwheels and letting our feet bond with the ground, just like our ancestors did hundreds and hundreds of years ago. Every now and then an old granny walking her dog or hikers would pass our way without noticing what holy ground they were striding through. Without opening their eyes, to see that paradise begun there, right in front of them.
